Source is Manga.
Context: Rokuro Okajima, a Japanese salaryman, is abandoned by his corporate employers and joins the Lagoon Company, a group of pirate mercenaries in Roanapur. This season covers his introduction to the criminal underworld, clashing with neo-Nazis, encountering the terminator-like maid Roberta, and dealing with terrorists.
Continuation: Watch Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage, or start reading Manga Chapter 11.
Critical Note: The anime adaptation rearranged the manga's story arcs. Season 1 ends with the "Goat, Jihad, Rock'N Roll" arc (Manga Chapters 16-21), but it completely skipped the "Bloodsport Fairy Tale" arc (Chapters 11-15). Season 2 begins with Chapter 11's storyline, so you must start reading from there if you switch to the manga early to avoid missing canon events.
