Source is: Manga.
Context: Atsushi Nakajima is kicked out of his orphanage and left starving by a river, where he absurdly rescues a suicidal man named Osamu Dazai. He soon discovers that Dazai is a member of the Armed Detective Agency, a group of eccentric individuals with supernatural abilities who solve crimes the police cannot handle. Atsushi's own latent ability to transform into a white tiger makes him a target for the ruthless Port Mafia, dragging him into the city's dangerous underworld. The first season introduces the core cast and establishes the intense rivalry between the Agency and the Mafia.
Continuation: Watch Bungo Stray Dogs 2, or start reading Manga Chapter 17.
Critical Note: The anime adaptation occasionally alters the timeline of events from the manga for better pacing. Episodes 6 and 7 actually adapt the "Osamu Dazai's Entrance Exam" Light Novel rather than the manga, shifting the timeline of those events to the present day to fit the season's structure.
Status: Finished.
