Total Chapters: 709
Source is Manga.
Context: Following the aftermath of the Courtesan of a Nation arc and other escalating events, the Yorozuya and their allies must navigate deadly political conspiracies in Edo. This season transitions the series from its usual episodic comedy into a highly serialized, intense overarching narrative, culminating in the critically acclaimed Shogun Assassination and Farewell, Shinsengumi arcs.
Continuation: Watch Gintama Season 4 (Gintama.), or start reading Manga Chapter 552.
Critical Note: The anime skipped several comedy chapters to reach the serious arcs faster. These skipped chapters are adapted later in the "Slip Arc" (Porori-hen), which takes place chronologically before the Shogun Assassination arc.
Status: Finished.
