Context: Sorata Kanda is forced to move into Sakura Hall, a dormitory infamous for housing eccentric and misfit students, after he refuses to abandon a stray cat. His life becomes even more chaotic when he is assigned to look after Mashiro Shiina, a world-renowned artist who completely lacks basic life skills and common sense. The anime covers their daily lives, their personal struggles with the gap between hard work and natural talent, and their collective efforts to save their beloved dormitory from being demolished.
Continuation: Start reading Light Novel Volume 7.
Critical Note: The 24-episode anime perfectly adapts the first six volumes of the original light novel. You can seamlessly pick up the story from Volume 7 without missing any major overarching plot points. Since the light novel concludes at Volume 10 (along with some short story collections), reading is the only way to experience the definitive ending of the series.
Status: Finished.
