Continuity Guide
Source is Light Novel.
Context: A theatrical side story set after the TV series but before the final movie. Violet is hired to act as a tutor and handmaid for Isabella York, a pessimistic noblewoman attending a strict, high-class girls' academy. The story spans several years, exploring the deep bond between Isabella and her estranged, adopted younger sister, Taylor Bartlett.
Continuation: To continue the story, watch Violet Evergarden: the Movie.
Critical Note: While technically a side story (adapted from the Gaiden novel), it beautifully showcases Violet's growth, maturity, and lingering grief following the TV series. It is also historically significant as the first Kyoto Animation project completed and released after the tragic 2019 studio arson attack.
Status: Finished.
