Anime Original Story
Source is Anime-Original.
Context: In 2039, a decade after the outbreak of the deadly Apocalypse Virus during the "Lost Christmas" disaster, Japan is placed under martial rule by the multinational military entity known as the GHQ. Shu Ouma, an introverted high school student, crosses paths with Inori Yuzuriha, a member of the rebel guerrilla group Funeral Parlor led by Gai Tsutsugami. Shu inadvertently gains the "Power of the Kings"—an ability allowing him to draw physical manifestations of people's hearts and souls called "Voids"—pulling him into the center of the conflict over Japan's freedom and the secret origins of the virus.
Continuation: (End) - The main anime reaches a definitive conclusion. You can watch the prequel OVA "Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas" for additional lore, or read the spin-off side novel "Guilty Crown: Princess of Deadpool".
Critical Note: This is an original production by Production I.G, meaning there is no original manga or light novel preceding the anime. The manga adaptation drawn by Yousuke Miyagi and Shion Mizuki was published concurrently and ended after 7 volumes without adding post-anime story material.
Status: Finished.
